Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Director, Assistant Director and Chief Clinical Dietitian at SMH. RD II, Supervisor covers two roles. 50% is dedicated to clinical nutrition services and the other 50% is dedicated to food service management. Clinical Nutrition: Has responsibility for the medical nutrition therapy of inpatients and/or outpatients, including assessment, documentation, screen, implementation, monitoring and reassessment of the care plan, patient education, and referral for further care at discharge. Coordinates RD and DTR schedules. Organizes RD and DTR meetings. Helps train new clinical staff and assist with RD and/or DTR internship programs. Participates in departmental activities, including performance improvement and performance evaluations. Acts as a liaison with the Chief Clinical Dietitian and clinical nutrition staff. Assists with the hospital nutrition committees. Conducts disciplinary action. Consults frequently with Assistant Director and Food Service Managers. Acts as a team member while communicating with patients, physicians, nurses, leadership, food service personnel, and other health care team members. Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies. Assists with competencies. Is a malnutrition champion. Food Service: Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies. Provides input to the Dept of Nutrition operational services and emergency disaster planning. Dedicated to helping patient food services (including cooks). Acts as the Computrition expert with responsibilities such as building menu screens, new diet combinations, helps develop new menus, new recipes and other food service roles. Works with Executive Chef to ensure food safety and quality. Works as a clinical nutrition resource to the Food Service Supervisors and Diet Office staff. Qualifications RD is mandatory Excellent communication skills. Preferred to have at least 2 years of experience managing clinical RD staff. Strong knowledge of malnutrition coding.
