Nutrition Counselor a paraprofessional support person who provides services to WIC clients such as, health screening, basic nutrition education, and referral for health care and other services.
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Employees receive supervision from a designated higher-level staff person, with the credentials of a Competent Professional Authority (CPA) or above.
Minimum Education
Associate's Degree 2 years of working at a WIC clinic (Required) Or
Bachelor's Degree Health education or Nutrition related field or Dietetic internship (Preferred)
Minimum Work Experience
2 years Worked in WIC/community healthcare setting (Required)
1 year Provided counseling in individual and group settings (Preferred)
Required Skills/Knowledge
Strong computer skills.
Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service and time management skills.
Ability to work well in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment.
Complete WIC para-professional competency training with a passing grade upon hiring
